I seem to be at the stage of life where all of my friends are having babies. It makes sense being almost 30 but I’ve been amazed at the number of friends becoming new moms these last few months. It’s caused me to think back to the roller coaster of emotions I had as a soon to be mom. The biggest one was what in the world do I need and how much of each? The number one item I always underestimated was the sheer volume of diapers we went through.

So with all the baby showers I’ve been attending I thought I would share my go-to gift for new moms. I love to give Huggies Sung & Dry diapers as a gift because really there can never be too many diapers. And I always shoot to give diapers that are bigger. I remember getting almost enough diapers to get me through the first two sizes and quite a few size 2 but by size 3 I was making frequent trips to the store for more diapers.

For some reason I never thought to check our local Sam’s Club for diapers which was like 5 minutes from our house. When I happened upon them one day I was kicking myself for not checking there sooner. They are a fantastic price per diaper and there are often coupons or rebates available and Sam’s Club members save $10 when they purchase Huggies Snug & Dry. Now with Ibotta there are even more chances to save! Right now there is a $7 rebate for the Huggies Snug & Dry diapers!

They are really easy to find since they are usually at the front of the store close to the toiletries section. There are plenty of sizes to choose from and you can even find the big boxes of wipes which I also buy. Shoot, I still buy the big box of wipes to keep in the car and in my purse. Kids are messy and the wipes come in handy all the time!

My go-to new mom gift is a personalized zipper pouch from Thirty-One with either the baby’s name or the family’s last name depending on if they’ve picked a name or not. Then I like to include:

  • Huggies Snug & Dry diapers
  • a package of baby wipes
  • diaper cream or baby powder
  • hand sanitizer

I also like to include one of our favorite board books. Or I’ll include a couple onesies which are always handy to keep in the pouch for those darn blowouts.

The best part about this gift is after the baby is done with diapers the zipper pouch can still be used. I currently use mine for my 4 year old son and it holds wipes, hand sanitizer, an extra pair of underwear and shorts for those accidents as well as his Epi-Pen and inhaler. He takes it to preschool and the daycare at the gym and it’s clearly labeled for everyone to see!

  1. Love the zipper pouch with the name! I had 2 baby showers in one month. I made something similar. I bought the ju-ju-be fuel cell and filled it with natural and organic nipple cream, diaper rash balm, Amber/Hazel necklace, foaming baby wash, Shea butter and a teether toy/baby tooth brush. Then I also included a big box of breast pads. No one ever gets you those but you really need them! I try to buy products all made in the U.S and the majority are made by WAHM! I love supporting small business’ because if I had a store I would want people to buy from me so I can still spend time with my children.
