I’m pretty much an all out lover of chocolate chip cookie dough. Remember this Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake from my birthday last year, or my go-to “I’m trying to be good but I’ve got a bad craving” Cookie Dough Yogurt “treat”. Now that we have established my craze for cookie dough (which doesn’t end with just a few recipes that’s just all that I have shared to this point), let’s move on.
Chocolate chip cookie dough was THE cookie we made growing up. I vaguely remember making other classics such as sugar cookies and peanut butter cookies but most of the time it was chocolate chip. We always made it by hand and I remember being exhausted by the hard work of creaming the sugar and butter together-BY HAND. My little arms got a big workout, especially because we never just made a single batch.
Even now I find myself pulling out the cookbook to make those classic chocolate chip cookies. There is just something perfect about that chocolate chip cookie. But sometimes it’s hot out and I don’t want to heat up the house or I’m trying to be good and know I don’t need to make 2 dozen chocolate chip cookies that will somehow magically disappear
into my stomach before my eyes. So cookie dough bites are a nice, quick, and easy alternative. I throw them in the freezer and try to limit myself to 1 or 2 little bites. On a really rough day it might be 3 or 4 but I won’t judge how many you eat if you promise not to judge me.
Note- if you have never heard of Bakerella please head on over to her site. You’ll be glad you did, or at least very hungry. 🙂
I generally don’t bother with the candy coating although they are super cute that way. It takes more time and effort than I want and I tell myself it’s better for me that way. Less calories you know.
