I have been wanting to make an advent calendar for years now but I’ve never gotten my act together to make some of the really cute- albeit labor intensive- ones on Pinterest. This year I was racking my brain on what to do that would be quick and easy. I realized I had several boxes of small mailing envelopes that would perfectly fit the bill plus ribbon and clothespins in my stash. It was simple, quick, and easy.
I used some free paper patterns for the backgrounds, the green stripe, and red and green patterns from Hostess With The Mostess, red chevron from Katie’s Wish, snowflake border from Activity.villiage.co.uk and the free font Things We Said.
I decided not to make up a bunch of pre-made cards because we don’t do many of the things other families do, and some of the things we are planning on are specific to our area. So there is a sheet of blank cards and one pre-filled sheet.
If you have specific requests let me know and I can add those to the list if people want them!
Print out the activity cards on regular paper or card stock. I would just print the date sheets on regular white paper and then glue them to your envelopes. Find some cute ribbon and clothespin your envelopes to the ribbon. If you really want to go all out get some cute washi tape and decorate the clothespins for added sparkle.
