  • Combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, chives and cheese in a large bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the buttermilk, vegetable oil, and eggs until combined.  Add all at once to the dry ingredients and stir until no large chunks of flour remain.
  • Cook on a hot greased waffle iron for 5 minutes. Keep warm until ready to serve.
