I saw this quote up at a relative’s house in Utah when we were visiting last summer. I knew I needed it in my home and finally here it is.
Supposedly this is an Irish proverb but I had a hard time confirming it. So take that at your own risk.
I love this quote since in our home the kitchen really is the heart. Being Polynesian, food is at the epicenter of every family gathering.
I remember being a teenager and attending an event and my uncle bringing me over a large plate piled high with all of the different fare offered. I ate and ate and ate until I was ready to pop and then my uncle brought over another plate.
So I took a nap to get out of eating more. When I woke up from my nap there was another plate filled with slices of cake and several scoops of ice cream! Every family gathering is a fresh chance to laugh at old memories.
