Easy Chunky Bracelet Hairties

I’ve been sitting on this tutorial for way too long and am so excited that I finally got my butt in gear to share it with you. It’s ridiculously simple and will take you all of a few minutes to make. I think this would be perfect to make with the kids or might be fun for a group of teenagers because it is so simple. You know you wear hair ties on your wrists so why not at least make them pretty looking. And it’s a great way to dress up a simple ponytail and give it a little extra pizzazz.
I found the anchor and bird charms at Michael’s in the jewelry section. I got the soft elastic from Pick Your Plum but I have seen similar ones at JoAnn’s and Michael’s. What I also loved about these bracelet hair ties is how inexpensive they are. The charms were the most expensive pieces and they were no more than a few dollars each. I’m thinking about making up a whole ton to keep on hand for little gifts! I loved the way the bird looked in my little miss’s hair!
These are seriously simple to make. Cut a length of elastic a little longer than double the width of your wrist. Thread the elastic through the loops on either side of your charm. Slide your hand through and finish it off by tying the ends together in a knot. Trim off any excess elastic and that’s it!
