Cheddar and Fresh Tomato Pizza topped with Balsamic vinegar is an easy appetizer made to be brunch or party food. This flavor combo is a favorite in our family.

I made it into an appetizer for a gathering or party but it’s also really tasty as an open faced sandwich or add meat for a grilled balsamic turkey sandwich.

Ingredients you need:

  • Wewalka pizza crust
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oregano
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Parmesan cheese

Since this fresh tomato pizza only uses a few ingredients, a sharp cheddar cheese will work best for this. I used a sharp white cheddar cheese that is a favorite with our family.

Also, consider using heirloom tomatoes which look gorgeous. Another swap you can make is to use a balsamic glaze instead of the vinegar for an even bigger punch of flavor!

How To Make Cheddar and Fresh Tomato Pizza:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Unroll the pizza dough but leave it on the parchment paper. Place on a cookie sheet.
  • Top entire pizza dough with cheese, arrange tomato slices over the cheese, and evenly sprinkle salt, pepper, and oregano over the whole pizza.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until cheese is bubbling and crust is browned. Once out of the oven, remove parchment paper and top with balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.

Tips and Tricks

If you would like to make it more pizza like, add about 1/2- 3/4 cup pizza sauce or pesto before adding all the toppings.

Adding fresh greens like arugula to the pizza once its out of the oven would be a great way to dress it up even more. This might be more popular with adults than children.
