An abstract doodled cloud and sun coloring page
An intricately doodled sun and cloud are the star of this Sun Coloring Page and a fun way to remember the beautiful rays of summer.

Keep the kids busy or enjoy some relaxing coloring time yourself with this beautiful sun coloring page. An intricately doodled sun and cloud are a fun way to remember the beautiful rays of summer.

With the end of our summer break approaching rapidly my kids are starting to feel kind of trunky. They’re ready to get back to school, playing with friends, and keeping busy. And in a way I am ready as well.

It will be nice to have more time to focus on things that I like to do but I’ll miss my kiddos and all the fun we’ve had this summer. To keep us all busy I’m pulling out another coloring page since they really like them. This is a sun coloring page to help us remember the good times of summer.

Make this coloring page your own:

I think you could easily embellish this with some of your own little doodles. Here are some ideas to try:

  • birds flying
  • a rainbow
  • butterflies
  • bees
  • paper airplanes

I think adding your own individual touch to these kinds of coloring pages is fun and a great way to get those creative juices flowing again for the kids. Shoot it’s even a good way for me to detox and give my creative side a workout.

Creative ways to use this coloring page:

  • I think it would be fun to pair this one with the Hot Air Balloon and Whale coloring pages to begin making a cool collage. You can add other pictures you find from magazines or pictures of your children and their friends.
  • You could even use the coloring pages as a jump start to a short story that the kids could write. It would be fun to see what they would write with the coloring pages as a basis. Then the kids could compare their story lines and see how the same pictures can inspire such different stories.

I hope you can find fun ways to not only get your kids ready for school but also enjoy the last bit of summer. I’ve also been having my kids work with their Fidget Spinner Addition Worksheets to get them back into practicing math for school.

How are you planning on spending the end of summer break?
